CuriVara™ exists to help people find products that work for their specific profile. These standards describe the principles that guide how we design recommendations and present information.

Outcomes not hype

We aim to prioritize signals tied to real-world use over popularity, marketing claims, or trends. Our goal is to reduce guesswork and improve relevance.

Clear and consistent language

When we describe outcomes, we try to use specific terms and plain definitions. Examples may include reduced dryness, less irritation, improved moisture retention, fewer flakes, or better manageability. Individual results can vary.

Profile-aware recommendations

Products can perform differently depending on variables like texture, porosity, density, sensitivity, environment, and routine. We design CuriVara to account for these variables so recommendations can be more personalized.

Personalization standards

We personalize results based on the profile you choose to share (for example: goals, hair/scalp/beard/skin variables, and routine preferences).

  • User-controlled: You can edit your profile or turn personalization off.

  • No guessing sensitive traits: We don’t infer protected traits from your photos or personal data.

  • No face recognition for identification: We do not use facial recognition to identify you.

  • Purpose-limited: Personalization is used to improve relevance and reduce guesswork.

Learning from patterns

Where available, we use aggregated outcome patterns from people with similar variables to improve relevance. We do not treat any single data point as definitive, and we continuously evaluate the quality of signals we use.

Transparency and disclosures

We aim to be clear about how content is presented and to avoid blending marketing with evaluation. If we have commercial relationships connected to what a user sees (including affiliate links), we disclose them clearly.

Fair opportunity for brands

We want product visibility to be driven by performance signals rather than budget alone. We design systems intended to give high-performing products, including from smaller brands, a meaningful chance to be discovered.

Integrity and abuse resistance

We build safeguards intended to reduce manipulation and misleading inputs. We may limit, down-rank, or exclude content when we believe it is unreliable, not properly disclosed, or intended to game the system.

Continuous improvement

We iterate on definitions, checks, and models as we learn. Updates are guided by these standards, and we may revise our approach over time.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t rank products based on paid placement.

  • We don’t promise results.

  • We don’t treat any single claim—brand, influencer, or salon—as proof without supporting signals.
